Chess Club

Mondays at West Mercer Elementary from 8am-9am
April 15th-June 17th (no class on May 27th)

Who should attend Chess Club and why?
Beginners through advanced players are welcome at Chess Club!
Make new friends while learning chess skills and practicing together each week. Chess has been proven to improve focus and critical thinking! In our classroom, chess is also a fun game where we build confidence, socialize, and practice sportsmanship.

What will students learn in Chess Club?
We will adjust each Chess Club to the students who attend to make sure all players                                               learn! Beginners will learn chess fundamentals from castling to checkmate.

We will learn tactics and checkmate patterns to build confidence finishing a game.

We may even learn advanced tournament skills while learning from famous

                                     chess games!
