Juneteenth Celebration at Mercerdale Park, Monday, June 19, 12pm-4pm

BSU Mentorship Program End of Year Celebration, 1:30pm

Bring your family to Mercer Island’s Juneteenth Community Celebration at Mercerdale Park on Monday, June 19, 12pm-4pm.  The Juneteenth celebration is being hosted by Mercer Island High School’s Black Student Union (BSU) and sponsored by the City of Mercer Island.  We will have fun kids’ activities, live music, food trucks, and MIHS dance team performance.

Kids can enjoy getting custom-made balloons twisted and created by Clownbuggie Entertainment.  There will also be airbrush face painting, glitter tattoos, and an ice cream truck!

We will also recognize the Black Student Union Mentorship Program at 1:30pm.  Please contact Soyun Chow if you would like to volunteer for kids’ activities from 1pm-3pm

For more information about Juneteenth, read the Presidential Proclamation here and check out Juneteenth children’s books listed here
